I'm not really a dedicated Enya fan, but I've listened to her songs quite a few times, and this tune got stuck in my mind some hours ago. I got the strangest ideas to use it? for some of my own lyrics, since it fits well, and so I spent the last few hours trying to figure out which song exactly it was =) Anyway, I found it, and ended up here... This is a wonderful version indeed! For me it's better than the original, since I'm too bad at hearing to appreciate singing in English.

Many string arrangment of songs have a melancholy timbre due to the fact the sound being produced is much more raw than the vocal voice that can easily be adjusted with the shaping of the mouth and quality of breathing correctly while singing. Yeah, it's not as ethereal, but they kind of make me think of two sides of one world, you know? Enya's original? version makes me think of a half of the world that's underwater (merpeople, mostly lol) and this part makes me think of the surface (particularly an old dock or something like that with sailors and traders, etc). :)
