Thanks for your answer. Apparently you can film with 30 fps if you? film in NTSC mode. The question is - would there be a problem playing the videos on a laptop? Or do you need some special program for that? Or can you convert those videos to PAL format? Cause i actually have problems playing the videos i made with 550d with VLC on my laptop - the colors are wrong and the videos are very jumpy. i've got a 1,8 ghz processor and 2 gb ram. It should be sufficient, shouldn't it?

It says in the description that it's 30fps. And you can tell it's a higher frame rate from how smooth the video is compared to a 25fps video. for example at 00:21 the water ripples move very smoothly. In 25fps, it would look slightly more jumpy. It can be hard to tell the difference, but when you look at enough? videos at different framerates the difference comes naturally :P

I'd personally recommend the Xacti HD1000 if you? want to do things with the clips you film quickly. The quality may not be as good as the Canon, but it's quite close, yet it's cheaper and a lot smaller. That's why we use it for Gear65.

J'ai acheté un Canon Mark II à la FNAC après avoir longuement hésité entre Canon et Nikon. Au bout d'une journée, le miroir s'est désolidarisé sans raison (pas de choc, rien). Je n'ai pris que 10? photos. Je passe à la FNAC et dis j'espérais un geste, au moins des excuses et un matériel neuf... Rien de tout cela. On m'a rendu un matériel réparé. Service déplorable. I purchased the T3 instead of the T3i and I love the camera and thus far, with an upgraded lense (I purchased a sigma 17-70) the image quality is fantastic. However I wanted to take self portraits and realized its a struggle without a remote...as only wired remotes are compatible with the T3, as the censor for the wireless remote is only on the T3i. So, so far, thats been the only? drawback. I really don't care much about the LCD screen.

The clips I captured at night weren't usable at all. Check the camera's? low light rating before you buy, otherwise you're better off with a single chip camera: daytime clips a tiny bit less vibrant, but night clips will be much better. I bought Pana's first 3CCD consumer camera 8 years ago and the images were vibrant in day light because each chip handles the? 3 main colours separately (R,B,G), but because of the limited space inside the camera, the 3 chips occupy more space, letting less light in, therefore low light performance is terrible. Actually, a lot of the VIXIAs from 2011 have manual focus options! Even the 700 dollar VIXIA HF M40 can do the shallow focus. It has all manual options. And remember, if a person who doesnt know anything uses these? cameras, it will show. But a person who learns and knows good filmmaking can get great footage out of them.
