calm down dude im just saying, if you saved the money you spent on your water cooling system you could have bought a 7k series card no problem, besides when it comes to cooling a cpu the stock coolers are designed to do their job well, a water cooler isnt going to give you any advantages unless you have overclocked to point where it could overheat and crash, or unless you are using the cpu to an extreme. e.g some? sort of extremely tolling graphic design work or if you are using it in a server

In your quest to tout cheap rig-building, you're forgetting that there are games that offer more than what you'd get with a $300 console: the differences alone between DX9 and DX11 are staggering. And to get that level of processing you need a powerful system. And you'd want everything to go more than the average 30fps if you don't want microstutters. In fact, it's best to? aim for 60fps on 60Hz monitors, and if your eyes need it, 100+fps for 120Hz displays.

I multitask, ever heard of that? Since I upgraded to 8GB,? I can instantaneously alt+tab in and out of even the heaviest game, while having several other programs running in the background safely. Vista?! Where the hell are you from, 2007? I use WIndows 7, so yeah, I _can_ use all 8GB. I don't underestimate the power of graphics cards, I just know exactly how bad an under-powered processor? and 2GB of RAM can bottleneck a powerful card. Remember, I have a 6870, a card far more powerful than the 3870x2. My monitor is also larger, at 1680x1050. And don't delude yourself that you're playing at "max settings" if your card can't handle DX11.

It'll run perfectly at 1400x900 resolution. the demonstration he did for crysis was at 1900x1200 resolution. And yes it is average but it doesnt drop down as much as you think. Since I never had much of a problem. The i5k series are always great, and 8GB of RAM? That is not? needed unless you're running Vista. that build? not only is the videocard 4 years old (meaning no DX10/11 support), but at high resolutions, its avg fps for Crysis is only 42fps for 1400x900 displays. That's 19" or less. Note that that's average, which means it'll dip to the mid-to-low 20's. Not? exactly running the game perfectly. I used to have a similar build: cheap proc, mobo, and 2GB of RAM paired with a 6870. I got bottlenecked bigtime. I couldn't play Skyrim decently until I switched to a core i5 2500k and 8GB of RAM.

Nah, it'd be better to go with an LGA 1155 slot board, with an i3 for now and the expectation that you'll be upgrading to an i5 / i7 as the price comes down. The i3 outperforms the best AMD has? way too often. Better to start out with a board set up for future upgrading from the get-go, and go with a budget friendly chip? that will do what 75%+ people need for now from a CPU

I said: EVERYTHING IS TASK SPECIFIC, meaning that depending on what you plan on using the system for, certain components could be more beneficial than other more expensive components such as dual Xeon cpu's? vs a single high end cpu for a gaming rig. Personally I? feel that the HD6570 is not powerful enough, but two great reasons; A8 already has graphics. And trying to fit an HD6970 in that... yeeeah, good luck. The dips on 3 screens would be awful imo, you're dropping into the 20s seen 19 a few times. With two 590s why wouldn't you go with a 3960x instead of 2600k if you're spending that much on video cards. Good temps bad performance on? three screens though, train sequence was average around 48 spiking to 100 :O

overheating like a melt down, no, getting hot, yes. It all depends on the stuff you want to put in an htpc and what your size limit is. Before even considering to go for an htpc as a gaming case, do some research in order to know how much space you need and how the airflow works in different htpc's. It also depends how much money you want to spend, i bought my grandia gd08 for 150 euros, and there are much more expensive htpc's out there, probarly with more room, but? also much bigger.

As I soon will move to my own flat I plan to invest in such a rig since it looks good in a living room and you can play on it like a console, on a big HDTV with gamepads? and stuff like that.
