I got my first iPad a couple of weeks ago, the latest one with the retina display, and instantly subscribed to Wired because they had updated their mag to this ultra-sharp display. Well, the text isn't nearly as clear as it is in the iBooks app which disappointed me...and I wonder why? that is the case?? Once you get used to print-quality text on the iPad, it's hard to go back.

But the Time Magazine and Popular Science+ digital magazines for the iPad offer pretty much the same amount of content if not? better in a package size of around 60Mb - 100Mb. I'm sure the content in the Wired app could be compressed to reduce initial file size but still retain content quality. They could also look at other ways of video delivery via means of streaming (but then I guess this wouldn't bode very well with offline users)

Sorry but? that is one of the most ridiculous statements I have heard in a long time and just about sums up stills photographer snobbery towards people who work in the motion picture and video industry. I've built publications with the front and back covers facing such as smaller publications like performance playbills. Most magazine printers I have worked with require me to send pages saved as individual PDFs so my workflow is easier to start at the cover and end at the back page. What if you wanted different mastheads, or other elements on some? of your pages but not all? That is where multiple master pages come in handy. Thanks for watching and your comment!

I think we can come to an understanding on something. I treat killing? very seriously; in fact I also believe wholeheartedly in forgiveness for everyone and such. In no practical/realistic philosophy is there a place where killing will be an automatic evil. Making an ethical/moral choice (including killing) is not as simple as Black and White as you're making it out to be. A ethical choice depends on motive, the consequences, etc. Even in religion they don't treat it as a black-and-white. Sometimes killing is a "necessary evil", as the example above shows. In no way was the pregnant woman wrong? or evil for trying to protect herself and her children.

I admit I don't like quite a few of her photos, but her style isn't quite what I'd call "evocative." Some of her best work does have a certain mood to it, but I don't believe she's famous for creating immersive images that take you through a variety of emotions. She's an artist who's made some beautiful photos of celebrities. Her cinematic compositions, lighting and use of props define? her style. But she's not a fine art photographer.

When? the child grows up they'll be able to see the benefits of both physical books and also viewable computer screens. At the moment she can't read and so hasn't ever experienced the pleasure of reading a book; she can only stab at little icons that respond to her fingers which is much more delightful at that age. Both formats are good, but she's not able to appreciate the one just yet.

The iPad has indeed helped technology along. However, as for competition as the current flurry of patent lawsuits proves... its going to be a messy business. These patent disputes and big companies like apple being? litigious could stifle innovation expecially in smaller companies. Don't ask me what the solution is however. Without patents, companies would not spend the money on R&D like they do.

err i don't remember much beyond nintendo power,game pro and electronic gaming monthly.i do remember owning copies of magazines with coverage on the soon-to-be released FF VII and FF VIII.i'm pretty sure i used to own some Nintendo? Power issues,but i don't anymore.

I used to subscribe to almost all these magazines back in the early-mid 90's. I had a nice collection too. Sadly I don't still have them:(. My favorites were probably? EGM, Gamepro, Game Players...shoot, I liked them all. Anyway, this is cool man! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Very Nice Collection

I watched this and thought of how the Fortune Magazine Company has talked about going digital only. That really sucks because you can't take digital every where. I remember keep magazines from years ago because of all the game cheats I could use, but now without the? access to play alot of those games they still hold a place in my heart because I remember how much they meant to me. Sadly alot of them are gone, but the memories won't fade.

i never had the luxury of a console back in the day, i had a c64 but that was old by then (1990 ) there was a recession in the uk and i was very envious of everyone elses consoles. and game magazines were just in my paper-round money price range, but as a kid just made me even more jealous? >

What I meant to say was,Video Game Magazines were so fucking awesome back in the days,they were our #1 source for our gaming news and thirst for all things gaming,Internet what fucking Internet that was a? distant dream,oh the days of calling all the local bookstores every week and asking do you have the the new issue of EGM or VG&CE etc..... Luckily today they have Retro Gamer magazine now, It's pricey, but it's very nostalgic. I used to buy? the Nintendo Powers at Video game stores back in the mid 90's and they would sell all the magazines for a penny since they were a month past due. Ah, memories.
