It's okay. My friend's babysitter is 20 and she doesn't know how to ride a bike or swim! My? little sister is 11 and she can't swim either but she is going to learn this summer. I suggest you get swimming lessons or ask a friend/sibling/parent to teach you how to swim.

@metalhop10 enter the pool one step at a time. After each step, relax. When you're? all the way in, relax. Walk where you can reach until you feel comfortable, then push off the bottom and float. Start swimming however you want, not thinking of being afraid. I hoe this helps!

i'm teaching a friend who is a student in his mid twenties. today? we were using a float and using a simple technique of kicking to propel himself. i am confident he will be good enough to swim with a couple more lessons. he did not feel embarrassed by using a float or whatever even though there were kids better than he is. so dont feel disheartened and get on with it.

actually, as i was taught in 4th grade,, african americans tend to be bigger and thicker boned individuals, than their caucasion (im saying caucasion because the instructer seems to be of the ethinic group) counter parts. This in? fact, makes it more difficult for us to keep ourselves afloat while on water... Well...thats what my teacher told me, but you dont have to believe it. i've seen black people swim before. Hi Tinkum82,I was hopeless as well, not getting my strokes right, not breathing at the right time, and literally sinking when I attempted to swim. After a couple of lessons, I decided to do a lot more practicals outside of the lessons. I spent 3 weeks conditioning my? lower body action, and improving my breathing, turning my head every 3 secs to inhale on each side. I introduced the freestyle arm movement when I got comfortable with my lower body work, and breathing. It takes time and effort.

Blow bubbles out of your nose as soon as your head is underwater. You want to blow bubbles at a constant speed the entire time until you go for a breath. Then start over again. This also gets rid of extra bounancy in your chest and helps you keep your butt and your legs? higher in the water. Another thing to remember is to keep your forward arm out and extended (but not locked) while taking a breath. That way your arm supports your head and you won't sink. This happens to me when I get tired.

as long as the person has a good form and makes sure to like not splash? and like gently bends their arms, and goes fast it's good. i can't really explain but everyone has their own technique but the imp. thing is in freestyle to not just splash ur arms make sure ur arms aren't flat like they kinda have to bend and when ur putting it back in the water kinda like stretch as much as you can!

My mother said"IM NOT AFRAID" and she jumped in. Just inhale, not? trying to be like everybody else and not puff your cheeks. Its okay. @Shigalbigal I swim to represent my school... Try keeping yourself flat. Calm yourself if you're scared of water, knowing that you can't really drown in a public pool. DO NOT swim vertically, keep your body straight and flat. To float on your back stretch? out your arms and legs but keep your legs and head at an equal height, and don't bend forward. Your head, butt and legs should be the same height in the water. Hope this helps, msg me if it doesn't, I'll be sure to reply :)

The main trouble would be the cold, but generally UK waters aren't so bad. Blackpool was awarded a blue flag, and while it missed out on one last year it shows how much better things have become. I wouldn't hurry into the sea after heavy rainfall though,? then the sewage overflow can be pretty bad. I wouldn't hurry to Blackpool either for that matter, but still.

I think I was only 16y/o when Lisa and Lillian Atkinson started the fire next door and I had to go to the firebox 2 blocks away, and ring for Firemen. They were only 4 blocks away, on?
